Salvation by works and not faith?

On which my post ended, learn to obey.

If you love me, you will keep my commandments - John 14:15

You appear to be confusing your interpretation of the Bible with what the Bible says

For the irreversible sins I’ve committed. Im guilty of these too. I’ve hurt people that I know they might never recover. I know what I did and it’s disgusting. Since I’m not facing any consequences in my life right now( well I do but I have personal examples of people doing much worse things than me and they don’t) so I expect hellfire. Departure from everything good. Wish I could change it but I can’t. That’s my theology and I’ll stick to it. I can’t expect God condemning these people while I am a part of them myself sadly.

Also

In my life all I ever known was hurt and pain from the external world. There’s not a single person in my life that who gutted me and wasn’t close to me. It was always from there Iv never expected. A blow below the belt as we call it. The most vile and evil thing. You gain the others trust so you can hurt them. Give them false hopes and dreams and then shatter them. How cruel and evil. Worst sin ever commited to one another.

I’ve done it myself . Auwful thing. I deserve the worst.

Thank you. There’s clearly a lot of pain there, and for what it’s worth, I’m sorry you were hurt by those you trusted. Identifying and calling those things out by name is an important first step. When it’s done to us and when we do it to others.

You said somethings about God, and I’m still wondering what you feel about being without God. If it’s ok with you, I would like to read what you have to say.

Sure, but these apply to people with saving faith. And my contention is that saving faith is more than just repeating some perfunctory prayer with the words “Jesus forgive me” like Nick is talking about. There are Scriptures that talk about how you can’t really follow Christ and stay wicked. This is not to deny that God’s grace is huge and it covers over our mistakes and weaknesses and failures. God’s grace is huge and we are saved by grace not our righteousness. But it is also true that God expects us to become righteous when we are united to Christ by faith.

I don’t think anyone’s good works achieve anything in any calculus, nor am I interested in reducing God’s interventions on humanity’s behalf to math. I think God is pleased with righteousness no matter who does it.

Awfull.I really do believe in him. But i know i wont go near to him ever because of my past sins and actions. Its like knowing you are going to die ,and you could get the cure but you got left out of it because you mistreated the doctors.

But im also happy.Happy that my victims and those who got hurt in this world will experience the ultimate justice and ultimate happiness thereafter.Happy for all the people in this world who will get freed and experience eternal life

I also hold God accountable for many things. He has been at fault a lot of times. But this is for another thread

It could also be me . There are stages in life tha made me think this way ,for if they didnt happen i dont think i woulve think out of the box.
Im probably considered a heretic by this point by the christian community. Not that is saddens me because as i have discovered theres not much fellowship inside the church or the christian body. All those mentioned before were andd still consider themselves as true christians. So take it as you willl

Whose faith is it anyway?

I doubt it can ever be overstated that the Gospel is the greatest story ever told, and too good to not be true. Or there is absolutely no hope in the world. (I have always been impressed how someone could say they no longer believe in Jesus, but then go on a vacation.)

Precisely!!!

The wonder is that if you are drawn to him, he has made a way where there could not be a way.

Sigh I though you understood me before. Now you go back to this preaching ***. Moving on .
Is this a common strategy for Christians where they don’t have something else to say or point a counterargument?

Sorry. You’ve argued about so much of this before. What do you expect? Either the Gospel is true or it isn’t. Taking your words at face value, you understand you’ve sinned against God terribly and you feel awful about it. There is a way is what I’m saying. The only way.

I seem to remember sharing Acts 2:36 with you. If not we can consider the passage.

Sigh.In this dystopian world seeing people telling me its only the one or the other really saddens.
You guys have come to the point of indoctrination .You are able to dinstinguish between YEC and evolution and regard evolution as true but God forbid you try and think about issues of salvation or other theological concepts. It saddens me .People cant think for themselves nowdays

You guys arent open minded here. You are just close-minded in another way.
I got nothing more to say

I thought you said there is no way, and now you want take issue with me for saying there is only one way, because there should be other ways.

The reason this is the only way for me is because it’s the only way I know where it doesn’t depend on my righteousness.

No way if you have commited an irreversible sin yes.Not a no way generally.

So salvation depending on righteousness is bad? Why?

Good catch. While I don’t say this, I suppose there’s some truth to any sin against God is irreversible apart from grace. My dilemma was that I kept sinning against him so there was something about me that was irreversible.

Salvation depending upon my righteousness is not possible for me.

I didnt meant it that way though. God can grant grace if you sin against him.But no when you do in expense of your borther.

Why?Have you hurt others? If so why yesi would agree its not possible. If not it is certain not possible(assuming you change your past behaviours)

I think what you mean is people don’t have to forgive you, but God can.

What?Of course not

He can and will at certain sins as ive said before .

Sure, I remember you saying sins against other people will not be forgiven, but there’s a problem because Jesus also said you commit murder against your brother when you hate him.

Well if that hurts him then it will be unforgiven as well.

But why would you hate someone for no reason?

Also if its justified hate i think then God understands maybe?

Like someone hurted you and then you hate them. Its understandable and justified no?

You said that your rightneousness cant get you in heaven.Doesnt God call us to be righteous? So why not?

Isnt self_rightenousness a criteria for God to show him you are his child?

For me if you have been a christian your whole life you wouldnt use nor hurt anyone in your way.
Ive seen not christians ive known from my neighborhood from 3 years old who got bullied and such and they never returned evil.Instead they tried to help everyone they could and were always nice .

I bullied one of them a little on my high school years .I cant even look at them in the face .Im so ashamed and shunned .This and other things ive done ,i deserve hell.

But not without seeing those in this world who did these things as well go down with me,

If God wont forgive me for my sins he wont do it for them
