Thanks for the link to Gregory’s video, its quite good, and I only wish I had seen it before my last talk, so I could have stolen some of the slides. I am a great fan of Gould, and also of Dawkins, and when they disagreed (which was a lot) I had fun choosing sides. My main beef with Gould was his tape rewinding theme, but I dont know enough about his views on convergence to be able to guess what he would say now. On the other hand Gould’s warnings about the adaptationist paradigm were brilliant and full of foresight, as we now know.
