Was just wondering if anyone here has read anything by Robert Alter and have any opinions on his work? I’ve heard Tim Mackie mention him a few times and generally not Mackie suggests someone I tend to take interest and am generally not disappointed. Any particular benefit to his translation and commentary? Or rather what is his commentary focus?
