They are pretty fractal. Seems a shame to eat it, but we’re gonna.

Today was a nice hike. It begin at 63°f and moved to 71°f. I’ll definitely be coming back to this place in late spring. After hiking a few hours I ended up napping under a tree for like 25 minutes and then woke up and went to this reptile enclosure and really had to fight off my snake fever lol. They had a 5 foot eastern king snake. Talked to a guy there who said he is a friend that has dozens of snake species for sale including a 6 foot western diamond back and has dozens of species of birds and turtles and even a connection for salamanders. It’s legit and for some you need a licenses and will have to have a secondary smaller enclosure so that they can be moved for 4 hours of educational purposes a year and so on. But was like ultimately I’m just not set up. In a few years when my new house is ready though I plan on getting a few more pets that are not mammals. Then went and got a vegan vanilla bing cherry ice cream with fudge.

Was a major stress reliever after yesterdays just miserable day.

That sun down (or up?) is spectacular. Nice variety.

11 degrees this am, and in contrast, beautiful for sledding fast!

It was the sun going down.

It’s a cool place. It does get a bit creepy though about 5 miles more north of there hiking. Start running into lots of alligators, Black bears and wild boars.

Of those I think it is the boars which would worry me most.

I found this snake about two miles out in my hike. I’m fairly certain it has the snake fungal disease. But not 100%. So I took it back to the Nature Center and shared my thoughts with the on duty biologist. She said the herpetologist will be in on Friday or Monday and will check it out. If it does have the fungal disease they will treat it and release it. The species is southern black racer. Non venomous.

Lots of yellow sliders. This was 7 and I kept coming across groups of 4-8 repeatedly.

The sliders look a little small, compared to the fast food variety. ; - )

Bit crunchy too.

I like those but the ones with dark chocolate.

Speaking of I’m eating a dark chocolate with almonds bars right now while watching the new chainsaw massacre on Netflix. Personally I really like it. Definitely amped up the gore but it’s not as bloody as of Zombie did it.

I can’t get into horror. I don’t see any point in terrorizing myself when there is so much real horror in the world. (Besides, my wife would not like it if I had a stroke or heart attack because of it. ; - )

She and I have at least one weakness in common.

Life is too short for milk chocolate.

My wife has been more interested in the garden during the pandemic and took this photo recently.

Here is a weaving she made from a photo I took of a crested (fasciated) Echium.

I’m pretty sure I posted a picture or two of that Echium last year but here is another. I’m not sure which photo she worked into the piece but I sure took a lot of them.

Couldn’t agree more. Although, Cadbury’s Dairy Milk is the exception that proves the rule.

Hah! One of my guilty pleasures. In fact I just had one while out shopping today. I’ve never heard them called “dairy eggs” before. These are the ones wrapped in foil with a gooey center?

Wow! Nice photos! (And the subject matter isn’t bad, either. ; - ) You are privileged to live in such a place (as are we all who even access to the internet).

It’s interesting that once the taste for dark chocolate is acquired (it doesn’t take long! ; - ), milk chocolate is just meh. I can make another exception, though – Lindt truffles.

Do you mean Cadbury’s Creme Eggs? They can also make the list of acceptable milk chocolate products.

Although, I was talking about the bars of brown gold that we get here in the UK, also known as Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Bars.
