I think these comments are extraneous to the major point I am making - I will restate it:
If the developed world were living the way the developed world does, the planet would not, and could not, feed and support the present population. So the debate about increases in the world’s population in themselves, fail to address the major problem, which is an unsustainable use of the world’s resources by the West. The global problems cannot be solved if we have increases in the world population, and changes in the developing world mirroring the way the West uses resources.
