i am saying that reshiyth is not chronology but relationship

Gen 1:1 in the beginning elohim created the heaven and the earth

Gen 2:4 these are the generations of the heaven and the earth when they were created in the day that Yehovah elohim made the earth and the heavens

here “heaven and earth” is referring to the creation of Adam and his relationship to Yehovah - just as in Genesis 1:1

or are there 2 different creations?

from the very first word of scripture, Yehovah is offering Himself to man!

It most certainly is not a scientific treatise on the creation of the universe.

I never said it was so what is your point?

Hint: In a response to a person make clear any reference that you intend to apply to everyone besides yourself. Which is generally a bad practice in the first place.

Walton didn’t even enter my mind. I guess he’s championed the temple inauguration view, but he’s hardly alone. And the royal chronicle part comes from my studies in grad school.

I think he was being generic, a sort of oratorical bit.

But I will add a fourth item: does this “alternative point of view” have any actual basis other than, “Ooh-- new and shiny!”?
