What information do you think he would have needed about evolution? I thought you were talking about morals. Which is something Jesus taught a lot about. Why would he try to teach science… Indeed a science that wouldn’t exist yet for many centuries? I see nothing in scriptures to indicate that he came to deliver 1st century citizens into 21st century science. But I see a whole lot about him coming to save us all -then and now -from our own sin.
He is the ultimate authority on all that matters most over all generations, and everything else, including all knowledge and science will be under his authority too. But that doesn’t mean his words were focused towards teaching about those things.
This is the issue with discussions around stuff like sexual sin. Everyone already has an idea of how to define it - usually based on how they were raised, or the church where they learned about Christianity - and so any discussion about scripture ASSUMES their viewpoint as the valid one and where they start their arguments from.
The argument I’m making is that nothing should be assumed and we should all be ready to be wrong about it. One of us definitely IS wrong and all I’m saying is that I’m erring on the side of being wrong while being inclusive, rather than excluding people and then finding out I was wrong about that!
