Yes it says Adam was made that week also. That tells us it was not billions of years ago
He also says the light was meant to be seen on earth. He also says earth was created first. Not a hard little 3 or four piece puzzle to put together.
You’re very welcome. You can actually read the things that people type, and that often helps figure out what they’re saying to you.
I think you forgot which discussion topic this is. This is the one where you tell us what to think about stars.
A solar year is irrelevant. That is a 365 day year and a year was 360 days and will be again one day. All stars were created. They were created to give light to earth. All old ages are belief based and a result of using only the natural to make calculations above it’s paygrade. The universe is not natural in origin. Nor will it be natural in ending one fine day. Poof. Gone. Rolled up like a scroll to be no more. Ever. Totally temporary. All your calculations are both faith based and against what Scripture says.
Stars were created to give light upon the earth. Adam saw them, so did all ancient people. That is pretty instant. No billions of years anywhere.
To the eye is your addition. That applied to most of history. Not today. Man’s eyes see a lot more now. God knew that all along. So some stars and signs are for us to see. You have no evidence or interpretation that even applies to this.
I disagree with your narrow preferred interpretation. Tell us if you think this is referring to some solid sky? Psalms 68:33
To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.
Was God on a carnival ride on a metal platform there?
Or this one Job 9:8
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
Is the sea metal also?
Or how about this verse…? Psalms 2:4
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision
Is God sitting on a metal pole in a solid sky?
Psalms 104:2
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
So the universe is stretched out (science says expanding) does that mean He melts metal and pulls it out? Ha
I do not need to tell you what to think about stars. I simply discuss what God said they are. You can takey or leavy
You need a little copyediting there, it should say “I simply discuss what I think they are.” Although I don’t think we have really discussed what stars are, since you never replied to the comment about parts of the Bible describing them as things that we know stars physically are not, so it should probably say “I simply discuss what I think about them” instead.
Not to speak for rsewell, but none of those use the word raqia, which is what’s translated as “firmament” or “dome,” so they aren’t really relevant to that discussion.
Seriously?
Tell your parents I want to talk to them.
God told us how things are. Plainly. We only need to believe it or not. For example, He created stars to give their light on earth. So it was. So it is. No confusion involved.
See what you did here? You claim not to care and not knowing, yet you claim to know what happened even though you ignore the how it happened. How can you say the word isn’t ‘a crock’ and disbelieve the full story of the same universe God spoke into existence?
Your OP is a knowledge claim. The lights shone on the earth ‘right away’ according to you, He was over the earth when He made the stars. You believe He spoke and it was so. So do I, except the stars you call signs are out there telling a story that has been running long enough that we can read it.
Help yourself and read on this subject before replying, at least take some time to consider different Christian perspectives, if mainstream science is too ‘atheistic’ for you.
The OP gives chapter and verse The stars were made to be seen. And so they were.
They speak of the same heavens. God has a big book. It makes it harder for some to make Him look silly with out of context things. He one upped them all
Nobody is trying to make God look silly and if you took this conversation seriously you would understand that. The fact that you keep repeating all this tells us all that you aren’t interested in what the Bible says, just in what you want it to be.
The claim was that a word means a solid dome. You bringing up a different word that doesn’t mean that is irrelevant.
How it happened is that God created stars to be seen. No ignoring on my end. Quite the contrary. When stars are created TO be seen on earth, they are seen. If that is not right away, what is? It sure ain’t billions of years!
Help yourself to read your own link and then post a relative point or two from it. Then I can dispose of them in short order. How sweet it is!
Glad you are not trying to make Him look silly, despite your posts. Cheers
Thanks buddy, glad you’re not trying to troll anybody.
- Your simple approach to parroting scripture and discussing nothing leaves whole to be desired. Are you aware that there are stars that can’t be seen from earth? The stars seen is one thing, but the unseen stars is a couple of stars too many.
Stars created to be seen? They are part of God’s divine order for a purpose but you’re adding to the text with your ‘right away’. All I see is your refusal to accept that the heavens tells a real steady History. While God took time and waited for the right moment to reveal the Son. Nobody in your camp reads the wait as weakness in God. So I don’t follow why patience becomes an insult the moment it shows up in the sky.
Show me where the verse says “right away” and I’ll concede that you have a point. The lights are appointed for seasons, they give light upon the earth and it was so. Alright and light travel time isn’t in the text while we can measure it. The same God who waited for the right moment to reveal His Son doesn’t strike me as a God who’d fake a sky, because you happen to think there can be a 24 hour day before the beginning of time.
