Is "Living Biblically" creating interest in the Bible or hurting it?

A TV comedy show, “Living Biblically”, has a man trying to live his life by the Bible with comedic results as I think showing any one of us living this way would have. It seems to be focused on the Law (told from a Judeo-Catholic perspective) and seems to ignore certain aspects of the Sermon on the Mount (my opinion).

I thought it handled the relationship between husband and wife very poorly, choosing to ignore what the Bible says for a “more modern interpretation”. This was much better handled on this forum

I feel this is overall portrayed in a positive light and would create interest in the Bible - how do other feel?

I think it’s pretty gimmicky. Is it the same guy who wrote the blog and the book? He wasn’t even a Christian.
