The Fifth Commandment (Reformed numbering) is really to help parents obey the Sixth: Thou shalt not kill! :rage:

Corollary: It only seems like your life is long upon the earth if you obey your parents.

Thank you! Having said that, I learned a lot from my parents and neighbors–among the lessons, to put others ahead of yourself, and be aware of their suffering (the missionaries distributed food, but I remember people asking to gather spinach weeds in our yard, and also hearing that they were eating grain stored in the ant mounds. Dad let me round with him in the hospital, where babies with sticklike legs and bulging tummies from poor protein stores received intensive nutritional therapy). It was a good perspective. He’s been very good for our family. Hopefully we’ll still be good for him, too.

A tempest in a tea pot.

Since 1 BCE wasnt invented until centuries after the year in question, it means nobody ever lived that actually dated their activities as 1 BCE, let alone 0 AD/CE. Either designation is based on retro-active labeling.

So 1 BCE, is just as equally 0 CE as any other dating convention that nobody ever had a chance of using. This makes millenia designations in sync with decade labels!:

Thus:
1980’s start with zero
1900’s start with zero.
2000’s start with zero.

And they’re in the 21st century.

A funny meme I saw on a Facebook group I follow. Don’t know if its based off that one bird that came out of “extinction” but its funny regardless.

My state is currently getting ready for a referendum vote to potentially restore philosophical exemptions for vaccines… I’m sure there won’t be any Nazi-calling going on here for the next few days. :stuck_out_tongue:

Measles is so contagious, it ignores philosophy … what will your state’s referendum say about that?

I’m philosophically opposed to unvaccinated kids attending public schools, so there is that.

Same here! But I’ve discovered I have a fair amount of friends and family who feel differently. :stuck_out_tongue:
