Reminds me of church dinners from my childhood. Congealed salads were a big thing. Some were actually good, and we still make a cranberry jello salad at Thanksgiving.

I hear that Mormons have a thing for lime jello salad.

And then there are deserts masquerading as salads. (That wouldn’t be one of them. ; - )

Yep. My favorite is mixing a can of cherry pie filling, a container of Cool whip, a can of Eagle Brand milk along with a can of pineapple tidbits and chopped pecans. About 1000 calories per serving, but can call it “salad.”

Ooh yes…we also have crushed pretzel bits with that for a sweet and salty mix.

My roommates and I in Detroit made “green goo,” with green jello, whipped cream, pistachio pudding, and blended pears…delicious
