That is typical of the scientific mind. It would seem that nothing is valid until someone else (several actually) states it or expounds it.

In fact, you are completely correct. Truth is often not self-evident so, if not for testimony or empirical data, how else are claims validated?

How long have you got?

Let’s just say that there are other philosophical standpoints

And that you (and scientists in general) have a very limited and specific view of Truth
