With the outbreak of Hantavirus on a cruise ship, it brings a lot of emotions up from the PTSDish experience of Covid. Perhaps while long Covid is a real physical manifestation, we still have a mental and spiritual “long Covid” as well. How does it currently affect your life and well being?
Here is an article that discusses it well:
Interesting! It is well done. Thank you.
At least it’s not Santavirus!

Thankfully, in addition to being a floor wax and a dessert topping, ivermectin cures Hanta virus too! We learned so much from COVID….
I guess the situation in USA and here (Finland) is quite different. Ongoing epidemics of potentially dangerous diseases (hanta, ebola, bird flu) are interesting news but few people are worried - it happens too far away. Bird flu occurs also here but it is not very dangerous for humans that do not work with birds. Our local variety of Hantavirus (Puumala) is the least dangerous Hantavirus that causes symptoms in humans; death rate is only 2/1000 cases. Yet, Puumala seems to give immunity towards the Andes virus, so the news tell that about 10% of Finns are already immune to the Hantavirus in the ship - not much to worry.
Covid viruses continue to circulate in the population but the attitudes towards the Covid have changed because deadly infections are not common anymore. A Covid infection is taken like any virus infection that causes ‘flu’ - not nice but you are sick for some days and then you get back to work. People do not even test anymore if their ‘flu’ is Covid or something else and only the sick or exceptionally vulnerable people may use a mask in public areas.
The news talk more about the attack drones than viruses. Ukraine has attacked Russian targets close to the Finnish border and some drones have strayed to Finland because of the Russian GPS interference. No victims or damage in Finland but that is something new and therefore interesting. Diseases are an old story so not as interesting, unless there is an acute risk to the population..
