Fairly new Evolutionary Creationist; could use encouragement

No, I’m pointing out that he keeps talking about evidence, then makes excuses for not providing any.

He’s welcome to his own worldview and his own standard of evidence. What convinces him is his choice.

What he is not welcome to do is whinge that skeptics don’t engage while refusing to engage himself.

Wrong. He hasn’t presented any evidence, of any kind. He hasn’t said much about his epistemology either, or about his views. He won’t even say what he meant by ‘fine tuning’.

This thread is just excuse after excuse after excuse. It’s vacuous. It’s not possible to tell if @DesperateEC knows what standards of evidence are, or what is in the gospels, or what fine-tuning is, because he simply does not provide details of anything.

I’m quite happy to talk to those with different worldviews. You, for example. But I won’t put up with hypocritical whining.

What details do you want?

Lots of people believe the fine tuning argument. It’s certainly not laughable, and for all we know, Earth is a “Goldilocks” planet where every nook and cranny is filled with life. Scientists have found and will continue to find other “earthlike” planets out there theoretically capable of supporting life, but until we actually visit them and collect samples (a highly unlikely proposition given the distances), we’ll never have evidence. Personally, I’m not a fine-tuning guy and I despise the Discovery Institute, but when I look around this world of ours, my intuition says it was created for a purpose.

It’s also not laughable to believe the historical evidences for the Resurrection. Lots of people you talk to every day in this space believe in them too, yet somehow you manage to talk to us without being a jerk. I know you can do it. Just try.

There are all sorts of different worldviews represented here. Expect to be challenged, but you can also insist that the rules for “Gracious Dialogue” be enforced when someone is out of line or harassing you. Welcome, by the way.
