I am trying to come up with a schedule for next year so I’ve been looking through materials I’ve purchased and trying to pull everything together.
I wanted to put in a plug for this series of teacher resources: Dr. Birdley Teaches Science
It is designed for use by middle school/high school classroom teachers, but they are really great if you are looking for supplement materials for a textbook or something to help you pull a unit study together. Each book has a series of lessons with a comic strip introduction to a key concept, a short background reading to present the information, vocabulary building activities, and lots of reinforcement activities that are set up in a very engaging and visually appealing way. I have been working through the three books on cells and I really like them. There are also books on physical science topics and earth science topics.
