Creationism isn't as common as you think

The title of this thread is the title of this shared sub-stack post from Ryan Burge who just published a lot of statistics over these sorts of beliefs. While the three categories that were used as sorting bins do lump a lot together, (I’ll roughly describe the bins as: unguided evolution, intelligent design, and sudden creation) - the way he describes these categories in the article, I would easily self-identify as being in the “intelligent design” category as briefly described, despite my not subscribing to Intelligent Design (as promoted by the Discovery Institute) at all! He definitely left it as a small “id” kind of broad category! Will be interesting to see what others make of this article. I think this one is shared and shouldn’t be behind any registration wall.

I was surprised at Burge’s last line where he speculated that only a minority of the visitors to the creation museum must actually believe it. Of the less than 20% of our society who does, they’re exactly the ones who would excitedly go (and maybe drag a few others along with them) precisely because they want to support it! Most others I’m guessing would rather spend their money in other ways. So I’d gamble that if I want to find someplace with a high concentration of YECs - that’s exactly the place I’d look.
