There are several news reports on the discovery on Mars of fairly complex - a long way from life, to be sure - long chain hydrocarbons, 10, 11, 12 carbons. They could be the result of various things, for example, fatty acids. What it seems to me is that this says that fairly complex chemistry outside Earth is maybe common.

Anton Petrov had an interesting video how how quantum tunneling could be allowing for organic chemistry on Titan

Not just Titan, but everywhere in the universe where the conditions are permissible.

Calling a straight chain hydrocarbox complex is being somewhat generous. Interesting but not up to the hype.
