Not much to say except the Moderns are different in many respects than the ancients?
Context, context, context?
The reality of the matter is that you have decided to take on a specific interpretation of Genesis, and no amount of evidence from the creation itself will change your mind. It’s a dogma.
Other Christians are not so willing to just ignore the creation. When mountains and mountains of evidence contradict an interpretation of scripture they take that as very strong evidence that their interpretation of the Bible is incorrect. You do the very same thing when you reject Biblical Geocentrism and Biblical Flat Earth. Whenever you are faced with this evidence you once again retreat into your myopic world where only the Bible exists and no evidence from the creation is ever considered.

And to us moderns, some of the things in the ancients’ worldview seem very alien.
Studying those other ways of thinking isn’t a chore, it’s a joyful venture into how God can think in ways different from us parochial modern westerners.
To YEC, context only matters when it’s in their favor, or at least when they think it is.

Can I insert “narrow, shallow, and materialistic” after “specific”?

It is a joy to nest oneself in the mind of the ancients (sometimes, bit scary in some cases). Yes, we can certainly abuse “context, context, context,” which is where the Holy Spirit helps us with discernment (and the wisdom of the saints, at times).
I can’t think of anything I would call scary – just really, really alien.
