I am a Brit but have lived for nearly 50 years in Germany following my service in the Army.

I grew up in Devon, England, but spent some time abroad in Malaya, and spent the last years of school and the first two years after school in Wiltshire, before joining the army and becoming a recovery mechanic.

When I left the army, I married my German wife and opted to live in Germany, where I became a Christian, and was elected to be an elder in the Protestant Church.

I became a geriatric nurse, then nursing manager, general manager, and finally area manager, before retiring.

I left the church primarily because my horizons were expanded by my nursing profession, and I came to see the church as primarily lacking in authenticity and populistic to some degree. I remain connected to the people I met there, but pursue my own studies.
