Craig doesn’t require A&E to be exclusive ancestors – he allows unspecified amounts of interbreeding with other non-souled members of the evolved population. The main reason he has to place them so far back to allow Neanderthals to be ensouled humans, something they must have inherited from their common ancestor with anatomically modern humans.

The abundant evidence from paleontology and archeology does not support that Adam was genetically ancestral to all modern humans, nor from a theological standpoint is it required. Adam was created as the first human to be in a covenantal accountability with God which established the same relationship for all of us thereafter. Adam’s purpose was to bring the understanding of sin into the world where before him God was not known and evil not understaood as sin. Christian theology is maintained with Adam being responsible for bringing sin into the world and 4000 years later Jesus would redeem man from the curse.

What you are describing is folklore. You can’t find any sound science that says any of this.
