The concept of a single “missing link” is long out of date.

Am I correct in associating “missing link” with pre-scientific concepts of “the Great Chain of Being”, upward from the lowest creatures
up to angels?

Piltdown did not go unchallenged for five decades, and it is not still used to promote missing links.

1912 to 1953…4 decades and 1 year then and it is still used by the Natural History Museum in London , its stored in their secured vault.

So you know it’s not on display, but still said it was being used to promote ‘missing links’.
