But you appear to be taking odd phrases out of context.
Does not state that the confession is necessary for forgiveness, nor does it say confession ratifies it.
Does it say that if we do not ask for it God will not forgive?
Or does it say that if we do ask for it they will be forgiven.
Strikes me that you are reading more into the text that it says and making a big assumption.
