believe me, I am happy to be wrong. I am simply going by what I read from folks like Francis Collins, Karl Giberson, and Kenneth Miller.
So are you saying then that evidence does exist for intelligent agency in the process? If so, is there any chance that I can pull this evidence out of you? Will you please share it?
I saw this over the weekend and wanted to respond when I had some time.
I would be in the category of believers who hold to a, “naturalistic” evolution. However, I don’t think of God as doing, “nothing” in it. I think everyone here can agree that God intervened into physical nothingness to initiate the creation. The laws were a miraculous instantiation and pre-packaged to intelligently work on the special properties of matter to evolve to humans. Given that, one, how can we make the claim that God has done nothing in evolution? And two, is that any different from saying that God is guiding evolution in an undetectable manner? Would be interested in hearing your thoughts.
After knocking around on this forum for a while, it is apparent that lots of different folks have varied ways of interpreting Genesis. I think that from an apologetics perspective, it would be valuable to have some easy outlines for supporting and explaining these competing ideas, including scripture references. For instance, it would be good to be able to sit down with someone and pull up Bio logos on the smart phone and go through the Framework theory in five minutes or less. And then go through the Functional Creation theory in five minutes, then hit the higlights of ID in five minutes, then Biblically Based Theistic Evolution in 5 minutes. Anyone feel up to some homework?
