Tinkering with the speed of light - implications?

You heard the one about the physicist who was given a ticket for running a red light. When he protested that the Doppler shift made the red light look green, the policeman changed the ticket to one for driving close to the speed of light!

It would be somewhere between 0.15 and 0.25 c, depending on the exact wavelengths. Also, the physicist being able to detect the wavelength of the light would be rather difficult.

Thanks. I was wondering if I might have been way off on that last portion!

The formula (ordered for this) is v/c= (λ0^2 - λr^2) / (λ0^2 + λr^2).
