Yes, I didn’t mean that a crisis of theology was a likely or necessary precursor, but only if they were going to have one they would have been through it.

One teacher in a theology seminar said that the persons needing theology studies more than any other group are those teaching children. There is logic behind that opinion. The teaching we hear as children builds the basic beliefs we have. Sunday school teachings for kids are not always truth (bad theology) and it demands some time and work to get rid of those wrong ideas later in the life.
I admire those Christians able to teach children in an interesting but truthful way.
