Given the two literary genres and three different messages, that’s secondary. The message of one genre can be boiled down to “God made a material realm for Himself to be king over”, the message of the second can be boiled down to “God made a temple for Himself where He can be worshiped”, and the third message is (in colloquial terms) “All your gods are belong to YHWH”. The role of humans in these three message are, respectively, to be God’s family and serve (alongside) Him ruling over Creation, to be God’s priesthood and order Creation in a way that exalts Him, and to totally dis anyone who tries to take devotion from Him.
As one apostle put it, God created all things for His pleasure. We’re just privileged to be part of what pleases Him and have the status of being His family and thus sharing in his tasks.
Just BTW, this is the foundation of the royal priesthood status declared in Exodus and picked up by Peter in his first letter – this world is God’s kingdom and His temple, and as His representatives (“image”) we are therefor both royal and a priesthood. It could also be said that we are royal attendants and temple servitors (this is just part of the content/message that YEC tosses in the trash by reading it from the wrong worldview).
