Research On YEC vs Atheism?

Ahhh – and just when I was trying to imagine what the high-priest’s mitre should appropriately be … a baseball cap perhaps? (worn backward of course.) You killed the romance.

This reminds me of Poe’s Law:

“Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won’t mistake for the real thing.” --Nathan Poe

Added in a later edit:

For what it is worth, here is the Nicene Creed which is probably the closest one can come to a definition of what a Christian is:

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

I don’t see any mention of having to believe in a literal Genesis.

Good thing I believe the earth is 6000 years old. In fact, nearly 1000000 times.

@Prode,

Ignorance is a terrible thing, don’t you think?

Here’s an old post of mine on how a one-celled organism ate algae that wouldn’t die… and the symbiotic pairing became more resilient during times of food shortage, or shortage of light!

I think this is a pretty important finding … buried within one of the hundreds of YouTube videos on Evolution !

Protists that fed on algae cells swallowed some that would not be digested and did not die… and they were lucky they did! Those algae cells helped the Protists survive starvation - - and provide an exquisite parallel to the acquisition of proto-mitochondria by one celled life ages ago…
