The Gray Havens is a really nice group if you like some vulnerability and mildly-folksy vibes :joy::

  • “Storehouse” just has beautiful music by itself "(I sometimes listen to the instrumental version on its own), but it’s a lovely statement about the mercy of God.

  • “Shadows of the Dawn” gives me hope when I struggle to find it and excites me to see how God will make all things new. The mental image of running toward the sun though it’s not yet in full view is a great mental illustration of what we as Christians do.

  • “Anywhere” is a vulnerable song, and that’s why it hits me deeply, especially in my current season.

Not “Christian”, but the song “Daylight” by The Watchhouse has pointed my mind to God before, specifically the second verse:

My heart was reaching, so tangled, entwined

(I replace “darlin’” with “Father” sometimes, lol)

Good songs. Added them to my “spiritual” playlist, which I actually call “Songs of Faith and Doubt”.

Another interesting discovery. Thanks. This is more in line with the OP – songs and artists that aren’t specifically Christian but that speak to your faith.

Here’s a mildly folksy/blues on for you: I Guess I Just Feel Like by John Mayer. It’s a lyric video but here’s some stuff I love in it (besides the guitar work)

John Mayer has some good songs! “Stop This Train” was my first introduction to him (or maybe “Waitin’ on the World to Change”, but I didn’t know he sang it lol).
