Was sinfulness, as a general condition of mankind, only limited to the region? […] The universal nature of God’s judgment against human sin is a constant drumbeat throughout Genesis 6-9. The regional flood was the first among many ad hoc interpretations meant to preserve the historicity of Genesis 1-11. In trying to “save” Genesis from science, they have done a disservice to the text, in my opinion.
