If you are a Christian, do you believe

It isn’t fine tuned for the existence of self-reproductive life. That is putting the cart before the horse. That is imputing purpose. The keys of c, e, G and h (the least obscure) emerge in the instant of robust equine existence from null and here we are carted along after. The universe will be lifeless for 10^100 times longer. A dead horse.

the universe can never be lifeless as it is the expression of life itself and that life transcends it.

As usual you pick and choose your meanings of words with multiple distinct meanings and smear them in to each other, homogenize them. Much like the God of the Bible believing. God is no more a living being than He is a blue one or any of the Biblical anthropomorphisms we continue to project on Him.

The universe reached puberty after nine billion years, five billion years ago: the peak of star formation. The oldest high metallicity, population I, third generation grandchild stars formed five billion before that, just four billion after the big bang. Life happens as soon as it rains so there has been life in the universe for nine, ten billion years, rounded. Star formation is exponentially collapsing to zero now, so it is with the sand grains of life supporting worlds. And stars die. Ours is middle aged. So, life as we know it will cease throughout the universe in another ten billion years. There is a false hope: red dwarfs live for trillions of years. So life will continue to evolve for at least a hundred billion on some worlds. But by 100,000,000,000,000 years there will be no stars but white and brown dwarf, neutron and black holes: the degenerate era. As Dr. Malcolm said, life finds a way, as brilliantly explored by Larry Niven in Integral Trees, so there may be life as long as there are planets or planetary nebulae: 10^15 years.

And that’s the first picosecond (more like a Planck tick and even then) of the future assuming proton decay, with the false vacuum collapse (10^15)^(10^13) years later.

That’s a long time dead.

But, of course, new universes are forming now as ever and will forever, in God or no.

Thanks for the compliments.
Considering the smearing of words, with puberty being the time of onset of sexual reproductive capacity, do you mean the stars reproduce sexually?

It somehow appears that your imagination of life does not go beyond the microbial life that made our planet habitable for us humans and that your concept of God denies him the quality of being alive or any other anthropomorphisms, denying that we would be made in his image. I fathom that makes it difficult to relate to God

Aye, it does, just using the Bible primitively. Beautifully primitive poetry as it is. As accordingly He is: Jesus. Literally there is no way we are made in the image of God. It’s meaningless. And beautiful. The gulf is infinite. The only possible image of God in flesh was Jesus. And it shows. Despite the flesh. And yes, we are invited to continue in that spirit. The Spirit. Life being better with God.

its beautiful and sophisticated poetry.

It is peerless literature over its time of a thousand years, heavily skewed from half way, and yes at times timelessly sophisticated, especially in the minor prophets, Jonah above all. Humane, inclusive, big minded. The oldest tale, Job, is the most postmodern. In all its savage, ghastly glory. Exodus thru Joshua has little glory. Has horror. Inflicted by YHWH. God the Killer is not sophisticated. At times He is tempered, merciful, reasonable even. But very mostly not. And only in comparison. A thin silver lining to very dark cloud. He evolves and then regresses: Violence is not sophisticated.

the sophistication is that it does include the violent parts as well

Sorry, but that’s not sophisticated. Bronze Age culture was more sophisticated than chalcolithic, sure. And population pressure made it and its g/Gods industrially violent. Sophistication works forwards in culture.

what do you think would have happened to the tribe of Israel if God would not have permitted them to engage in certain conflicts?

? which of the ten. And which conflicts? And what permission by which God? And what has that got to do with the true, social gospel?
