And as a corollary, mixing bleach and vinegar will produce phosgene.
I was talking to my 9 year old niece and told her that the show has commercials and she asked me what is a commercial. Then the commercial came on and sheâs said itâs an ad. Lol. I realized I donât think Iâve heard commercials called commercials for a while now.
I hadnât noticed this.
We call them commercials at our house.
We call them ads/adverts here. Calling them commercials would be considered an âAmericanismâ.
Sure, but @SkovandOfMitaze is here in the States.
That reminds me of the time my kids first saw a commercial at my parents house. My parents have cable and we donât. My kids only knew streaming, and when the commercial came on, they both in unison were like, âWhatâs that!â
I know⌠I just wanted to feel involvedâŚ
You wonât be forgotten, Liam!
Yeah, weâve had similar things going on here. In my mind âcommercialsâ are on TV channels and radio broadcasts, but everything else is an ad. But since my kids mostly started out watching YouTube and streaming, they got used to calling everything an âadâ no matter the context. At least âad breakâ is quicker to say and type than âcommercial break.â
Mustard gas has sulfur in the compound, so the stated mix doesnât make mustard gas.
When I lived in Colorado a rancher made his own at home using commercially available chemicals. Since mustard gas is much heavier than air, he used it to eliminate prairie dogs from his rangeland. He commented that when the areas where he employed the stuff got rain it broke down into compounds that served as fertilizer.
Just saw this again. The best!
- Iâm surprised that it wasnât deleted for mocking all Sarcastics.
That wasnât sarcastic or anything, was it?
- I no longer know.
- And it was so short, too!
Itâs not Wrinkle-Free fabric because it requires irony.
