Twitter is always a zoo but at the moment it’s more of a madhouse. A lot of academics are trying out Mastodon as an alternative. (I tried to get started on Mastodon but never got a confirmation email. When I mentioned this on Twitter, I was told that (a) it was own fault for not using a Mastodon server run by someone I know and trust and (b) barriers to entry were a feature, not a bug, since they keep out the morons. Pretty standard tech bro attitude.

I see that, as usual, Mennonites are not mapped here, probably because we (neither catholic nor protestant) are off wandering somewhere on that proverbial “third way”… Maybe in the corner with the Adventists…?
