One with a bee looks like some kind of Allium or at least in the Amaryllidaceae family. Are those tepals? If you know.
I’m afraid I don’t know. If I ever have the photo handy when I’m around the woman who is in charge of all of the gardens at church (where I took this one), I’ll ask her.
Steve, do you ever exhibit your photos? If you lived in Michigan, I’d be begging you to eshibit your work at the library I where i work,
That sounds suspiciously like work. I’ve printed a few for personal use (mostly in our house) but haven’t done more than that.
any good views of the aurora borealis? We are getting a wee bit seen through phone screens here, but bet they are beautiful further north.
They were reported to be visible and beautiful from here but we had cloud cover both nights. I think I saw a faint glow through the clouds, but I’m not sure.
Hoping for better skies as the comet comes by.
On our back porch they were subtle and stunning. My table produced 4 black rectangles for photos.
That’s expert!
Felt like the one with my face shows the flowers off the best. I always have a hard time making them show up good in pics without something as a strong backdrop. They grow along sand dunes and so all the white often gets loss in one another. It’s “snake cotton” . Most likely the native Florida snake cotton.
Here’s the best picture I got (on Monday) of Comet C/2023 Ag Tsuchinshan-ATLAS:
It was naked-eye visible then and on Wednesday night.
Who’s your friend?
A angry gray rat snake lol. They were sun bathing and a family of cyclist was coming up. So I tried to move first with my foot but it just curled up and tried to hide its head. So I picked it up. Held it for about 15 minutes and showed several people the snake. Feel it helps erase a little bit of fear each time someone sees ones being handled.
Probably best to know how to handle the snake, before just going for it, though.
