Nebraska has a self-reporting program they email out maybe once a week that asks if you have any symptoms, have been near anyone that has tested positive, if you want to be tested and a couple of other things. It is certainly not as good as on demand or as needed testing, and it constitutes a kind of contact tracing, so I participate in it. My wife and I are very definitely seniors and are pretty gladly able to self-isolate, but I have no idea how effective the TestNebraska program is in prevention or control.
I am not impressed with the governor’s handling of the situation, since he and so many others don’t get it about masking, so I suspect the program is not particularly effective. We have curves going up again, just like so many other places.
