It is good to see the term “image bearer” included in the conversation. The word translated “in” actually has a broader meaning, “as” as well as “in.” That means we as image bearers have been given a vocation by God and that is to be image bearers. We are to reflect God’s image back to him in worship and out to others in service. That theme carries all the way through the Bible and is reflected in the two great commandments. First, love God. First also, love others.
