Fun human interest story about measuring snow

I thought some of you numbers geeks might appreciate this story about a guy who has been measuring snow in his remote mountain cabin in the Rockies for decades, just to have something to do, and now his hardcopy steno notebooks are proving very valuable to climate change researchers. Citizen science at its finest.
