COVID Personal Concerns

I have handled strep, staph, C. diff, adenovirus, and other human pathogens in a lab setting for more than two decades, and I have had more anxiety touching a door knob in a public place than I have ever had touching anything in a lab. It’s a strange feeling.

Older people feel the cold much more than young folks.

Yeah, I’m ‘older people’ and I never used to get earaches from the cold, not even up in the Rocky Mountains’ winds. And I have less hair on top for insulation, too. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is on our church web site:

Making an act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things,
and I desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.

Yes, that’s true, which is why I mentioned being bundled up.

I live with my 96 year old father as his primary caregiver. Our apartment is so hot that when I buy his favourite Lindt truffles, the insides turn into chocolate soup.

Nobody dies before his time, my life is in His hands and that’s a comforting thought.

I’m all about God’s providential timing (a few may recall ), and one of my favorite verses (many have to do with time) is Psalm 31:15 –

My times are in your hands.

We did this past Sunday. I made unleavened bread (super easy) and had bought grape juice earlier in the week assuming church wasn’t going to meet. I was right. My husband prayed over it and we took it together. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” (Matt 18:20)

My church doesn’t have any concept of “clergy” needing to preside over things, so we don’t have any problem taking it ourselves. Regular members preside over the Lord’s Supper most of the time for us anyway. If an elder or the preacher is presiding over it, that’s just because their name came up in the rotation.
