There’s no may be about it. SOCIAL justice.

Social justice is our only hope, not just because it is morally right and long overdue but because without it our species will die. We are now in a race between justice and extinction.

That means equality of outcome. Aka righteousness - whatever that mean. Oh! δικαιοσύνην, dikaiosynēn from Dike the goddess of social justice.

When I don’t have problem with calling someone “Second Darwin”, but such person probably wasn’t yet born, calling someone “Black Darwin” or “Yellow Darwin”, no, I wouldn’t do that. I don’t like to describe people by color of their skin.

And this also suggest that if person that we are talking have lighter skin color, he/she wouldn’t be worth compering to Darwin at all.

…we now have a choice to decide to save ourselves, but that this is only possible by learning to love our neighbors the way Christ taught us.

Thanks for this article and for pointing to it. We need more people like Graves, who are willing to call the church to account and call us to social justice, making clear that this is a Christian endeavor, not just a particular political stance.

In addition to needing voices like Graves, we Christians need to learn to recognize our role models and follow their lead.

If Mr.Graves think he can change the church for the better and convince Christians to do better he is mistaken.Sorry but in no universe will the average christian behave accordingly to morality and generally “good”.

I agree, in fact the idea of justice makes far more sense to me in a Christian context than any Christian influenced secular context (from a meta-ethical standpoint). To me, it is freeing not to have to see it as a political game/argument but more one of humanity. Isiah 1:11-17 comes to mind:

“The multitude of your sacrifices— what are they to me?” says the Lord. “I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. When you come to appear before me, who has asked this of you, this trampling of my courts? Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations— I cannot bear your worthless assemblies. Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals I hate with all my being. They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood! Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”
